Comments Under normal growth conditions protein degradation is 1-2.5% 1/h. Under starvation conditions this increases to 4-5%. Protein degradation is mediated by two processive proteases Lon and FtsH, and several peptidases [PUB_0029, PUB_0030, PUB_0031].
