Comments Sluijter et al showed that MG_339 has RecA activity and promotes recombination and antigenic variation of adhesion proteins [PUB_0800]. Sluijter et al also showed that an M. pneumoniae homology of MG_091 stimulates RecA activity [PUB_0802]. Physical properties Functional as monomer [PUB_0078]. Footprint of a single RecA monomer is 3 nt [PUB_0082, PUB_0707]. 6 RecA monomers bind per 15 bases ssDNA [PUB_0706].
